Saša Jantolek, born on January 24, 1968 in Rijeka, Croatia. Saša Jantolek's artistic work includes comics, drawings, paintings, installations, objects, ironic conceptual or "real" carnival effigies, poetic illustrations, puppets, where the constant of his artistic expression is the integration of painting and sculpture, humorous, imaginative and lucid, simplicity and complexity, poetic and grotesque, children's and adult. Borrowing fragments of different artistic styles, techniques and procedures - on the trail of children's expression, Mediterranean sensibility, neoexpressionism, ludism, outsider art, art brut - he has achieved a characteristic style and aesthetics through his work. Jantolek's imagination refers to the illustration of life sequences, intimate life fragments of his episodic characters, often bizarre, always emotionally close and understandable. He has won numerous recognitions and awards, such as the 1st prize and a special recognition at the international painting competition "Mandrać" in Volosko in 2007 and 2010. He has exhibited solo or at group exhibitions at least 50 times, both in Croatia and abroad. He is a member of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists of Rijeka and Istria, the Croatian Association of Artists of Applied Arts and the Croatian Association of Freelance Artists
