Bert's artistic approach is simple.
It arises from pleasure and spontaneity. It does not take on any conceptual challenge. This explains the diversity of his activities. And a refusal to focus his work in a one-way way. His paintings are created instinctively and try to immerse themselves in universes that soothe and delight his senses. These universes evolve to the rhythm of its moods and have only one duration.
If, therefore, bathers today are a representation of the gentleness and peace that beautify its landscape, we cannot say when this impression will fade.
A gray sky, a pile of garbage or the eyes of a child can perhaps transfer it to an abstract composition.
It's like a necessity.

Bertrand Commeny – Bert has been a painter and sculptor for more than 30 years and works in collaboration with the artist Catha Mathieu. Now based in Nice and Marseille after living in Paris, Los Angeles and London. He grew up on the shores of the Mediterranean, an inexhaustible source of inspiration and exploration (and challenges since he was France Funboard Champion!).
A graduate of the Arts Décoratifs and the Beaux-Arts de Paris in painting and architecture, Bert completed a rich career in Art Direction before founding his own design and interior decoration studio, in order to explore his universe for the realization of singular living spaces. He has numerous exhibitions and achievements to his credit all over the world, including a 40-meter long fresco, listed, and 32 sculptures for the Constructa Group at 1500 Ocean Drive in Miami.
Winner of the 1st prize in the Renoir Museum International Competition, his work is generous, joyful and luminous and his creation is above all an act of sharing, an impulse towards the other, to which the subtle imprint of emptiness, reflection and water gives voice. The southern and seaside inspiration is revealed through the familiar colours and shapes of her universe, harmoniously combined to sublimate women, landscapes or moments in life.
