In her work, Matea strives for functionality, minimalism and organic form. Each sculpture requires a different approach and work process, starting from the cold processing of glass cutting to the heat treatment in the furnace. It is important to emphasize that every object or useful object is made of recycled glass. The objects for the space are functional and/or light sculptures of a minimalistic-organic character. The guiding thought of Matea and her studio is to re-establish the everyday relationship between human being and art - introducing art into homes while making the individuals a 'moving gallery' and their homes a permanent exhibition

Matea Zeman was born in 1992 in Bjelovar, Croatia. She studied in Rijeka, completed undergraduate and graduate studies in cultural studies and the Academy of Applied Arts (MA in cultural, MA in art, sculpture). She graduated on the topic of functional sculpture with professor Đ. Jandrić and R. Mijalić. Since 2015, she has been publicly exhibiting her sculptures, photographs, paintings, drawings and installations in galleries and public spaces throughout Croatia and beyond. She is a member of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists of Istria and the Croatian Association of Fine Artists of Applied Arts. Matea works in the field of visual arts through the medium of glass, wood, metal and stone. She exhibited for the first time independently in 2019, and since then she has held several solo exhibitions.
